As for art, I was always drawing since I could remember. I live in a small town on the south coast of Africa and just basically love to be creative. I use different art media, techniques and styles in my work. I have tried to stick to one style and one medium and got constantly advised to do that in order to perfect it, but eventually gave up. I was not happy, not free and felt caged in. I just cannot resist the urge of experimenting with the wide variety of art media on the market. For me each subject or theme calls for a specific medium and style. Unfortunately that was and is the best way I like to portrait something. Lately I am pleasantly occupied with botanical art and sketching/drawing and painting of wild life and landscapes.
My love and admiration for Africa's amazing wild life and untamed nature is something I was always clearly aware of since I can remember. I was brought up to respect and treasure nature and spent since childhood whenever possible exploring my countries diverse landscape sceneries by traveling and hiking trails.
I do also love to do human portraiture from time to time. I am particularly fascinated by portraying facial expressions or the portraying of underlying emotion. The same basic principles also count for my aspiration to portrait animals.
While I am drawing or painting, I escape to a world so very perfect and beautiful and needless to say a world I like to spend a lot of time! I really love to explore the almost endless possibilities of art. I hereby hope and strive to feed more souls with my work :)
